L’Oréal Paris Mat Magique All-In-One Matte Transforming Compact |Product Review
September 08, 2015
L’Oreal Paris India launched an all new 3-in-1 Mat Magique Powder in 5 Indian skin-tone friendly shades at an extremely affordable price tag and I was amazed to see some of the normal concerns addressed in the product range. A compact that claims to blend into your skin for impeccable coverage without looking cakey, reducing the need of touch-ups and re-applications. I was super excited to try them as the product is enriched in SPF 34 PA+++ that will protect the skin from the sun and it is matte with a 12 hour staying power.
So I got 2 shades that I could alternate for the day and night lights and here is what they fared for me…
What is the L’Oreal Paris Mat Magique All-In-One Matte Transforming Powder all about?
L’Oreal Paris Mat Magique All-In-One Matte Transforming Powder is the first of its kind powder infused with volcanic perlite, natural yet powerful sebum absorbent. The product claims to be Non-Comedogenic, Dermatologically tested and tested for allergy.

For optimum results the product is to be applied evenly with a sponge all over the face and neck after moisturising and sun protection and before make-up routine.
What shades is L’Oreal Paris Mat Magique All-In-One Matte Transforming Powder available in?
The powder is available in five shades ranging from Nude to Amber.
N2 Nude Vanilla: The lightest shade is perfect for very fair skin cooler tones without any yellow undertones.
G1 Vanilla Ivory: A shade that is N2 with a tint of yellow undertones perfect for the evening light.
G2 Golden Ivory: A shade for the Indian fair-wheatish tones for both day and night light; with yellow undertones.
N6 Nude Honey: An orange undertone that highlights the gorgeous dusky skin tone.
G7 Golden Amber: The deepest shade in the range that is perfect for a deep and dusky skin tone.
My first impressions of the product was it’s texture was creamy and soft and not at all powder-like dry and grained. The texture made it very easy to apply and blend in and offers instant radiance and a sheer-shine. I tried it with different bases including moisturiser and foundation and it set rather well with most of them making it a super go-to-product for a fuss-free medium to heavy coverage. I tried G1 and G2 and am happy with the look I achieved with both the shades during the day and night respectively. I tried to alternate the shades and was happy the G2 worked well both in the day as well as the night but G1 seemed a little off during the day. Though I’m not sure about the 12 hour claim, I can positively assert that it takes me comfortably from day to night without any touch-up or re-application on my normal skin. And it has SPF 34 and PA+++ which is a bonus for a product with that price.
The only thing that didn’t work in the favour of the product is in the packaging department. I fail to understand why would the product and the mirror be in different compartments, instead of being in the same for easy application. And the fragrance is very talc-like, so it smells like a very powdery residue.
Product Strengths:
* Soft Creamy Texture, Fuss-free application and easy to blend in
