Salwar Suit Styles To Flaunt This Festive Season

October 18, 2018

Dressing up for the festive season becomes a chore when you can't decide what to wear. Sometimes putting together an Indian outfit that helps you stand out takes no effort at all if you know what to pick. Of course for the uninitiated, it could be a tedious task but I rely on my salwar suits to help me sail through the numerous festive celebrations. Though there is a wide variety of salwar suit styles to pick from, the trick is to pick the styles that work best for your body type.

Anarkali Suits
The latest trend that has reemerged after decades is the Anarkali style that practically works for everyone and is easy to style. The long flowing silhouette is a flattering style that hugs the upper body while the flare accentuates the lower body. Alter the length as per your body type and pick dark shades and flowy fabrics for maximum effect.

Straight Suits
A closet staple, a classic long straight kameez and slender churidar can never look wrong on any woman. However, it is important to pick a fit that is comfortable and hugs the right curves while accentuating your body. Straight suits work best for tall women, however, due to the length and sharp straight cut, it looks smart and sassy on a short woman too.

Patiala Suits
A fun suit made popular by the cinema, a Patiala suit is perfect for every body type. The short kameez allows the gorgeous silhouette of the Patiala to shine through and add character to the overall look. Patiala suits look best in flowy fabrics, dark colours and printed bottoms, that add a Punjabi tadka to your style.

Palazzo Suits
Again a trend that has come back in a good way to offer a wonderful option to those who love the salwar suits but are bored of the routine styles. The broad pant style bottom offers a vivid flare and design that can spruce up a straight line kurti. Palazzo suits work best for medium built women with broad shoulders and decent height.

Dhoti Suits
The dhoti style adds a fun element to the contemporary salwar and transforms a regular suit into a fashion-forward outfit. The multiple pleats that are typical to the dhoti style will be complementary to women who are small built and leaner in shape. Dhoti suits like Patialas should be paired with shorter kurtis to add an edge to the ensemble.
Slit Suits
The best way to add some sassiness to a salwar suit is to opt for a front centre or front side tall slits. This style is borrowed from the western long dress that allows a woman to show her gorgeous legs. Slit suits look best in stiff fabrics that without a doubt portrays a fashionable approach to ethnic wear.

Owning a salwar suit is much like owning a pair of denim, and the more you wear different styles you will want to experiment with them. Numerous online stores to offer amazing designs and styles to choose from depending upon the occasion and budget. So do not let any excuse hold your fashion choices this season, get creative and flaunt styles that you may not have worn before.

Until next time,
